L.A. PRIDE 2018 June 9-10
March with us on
Sunday, June 10
PLACE: We meet at our "staging area" located on Crescent Heights Blvd, south of Santa Monica Blvd (map)
If needed the morning of the parade, the PRIDE staff can direct you to where the PFLAG contingent (#36) is gathering.
TIME: Arrive by 9:45 am. PFLAG Los Angeles is number 36 in the line up, so we are scheduled to step off very, very early this year. The parade may start as early as 10:45 am. Don't be late!!!
DRESS: Wear a red T-shirt! It's not mandatory,
but most of us will be decked out in red.
TIPS: Eat a good breakfast that morning. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat and snacks. Arrive early!
RULES: Marchers are not allowed to throw any item into the crowd OR engage in any activity that causes or promotes spectators to enter the parade route (such as giving or receiving hugs ... sorry folks). Parade organizers have stated that they will strictly enforce this rule this year. WARNING: Violating with rule will cause the entire contingent to be immediately removed during the parade!
PARKING: Parking and traffic congestion on Parade day in West Hollywood are impossible at best; any vehicles parked illegally WILL be ticketed and towed away. Consider carpooling. Suggested parking areas include East of Fairfax, Pacific Design Center, the Kings Road parking structure, and the Beverly Center.
The City of West Hollywood generally suspends enforcement of permit parking from 4 p.m. on Pride Friday, to 7 a.m. on the Monday after Pride. Additionally, metered parking is enforced on Sunday during the PRIDE Parade. Be careful to observe the boundaries of the City of West Hollywood (map); if parking occurs in the City of Los Angeles or Beverly Hills, all parking restrictions must be observed. Check with the City of West Hollywood for the most accurate information.
FINALLY: Come prepared to have fun and share in the LGBTQ community's celebration. We're looking forward to seeing you!
